Umbro relaunches its legendary Drill Top from 1996

Among the significant moments of modern football culture, the appearance of Liam Gallagher on the Maine Road Stadium scene in April 1996 is a good place. That evening, dressed in a Drill Top Umbro, the singer of Oasis laid one of the first milestones of the crossing between football and music. Almost thirty years later, Umbrian Bring back this clothing that has become iconic by offering a faithful reissue of the original model.

A cult model faithful to the original

For the first time since 1996, Umbro highlights the Drill Top worn by Liam Gallagher during the Oasis concert in Manchester. True to its roots, this reissue carefully respects the design of the period model. Made of 100 % cotton drill, the garment retains a typical cut in the 90s. The fabric benefits from a faded finish in order to recreate the “already worn” effect which contributes to its authenticity.

The original details are also present. The V -collar and the wrists remain rubbish to ensure a support faithful to the historic model. The contrasted panels at the collar and forearms are preserved, while the reinforced double stitching seams guarantee the sustainability of the room.
