Millau: the Golf Café is spent at the English hour for its reopening

The Millavoise institution reopens its doors this Saturday, May 3 with a few new features for its 22nd season.

No summer without Golf Café. A real “place to be” as soon as the sunny days appear, the establishment is preparing to reopen its doors, this Saturday, May 3 from 6 p.m. A reopening with fanfare with no less than 3,000 people expected for this institution since 1991 (at the time of Bernard Tarrusson) located on the campsite road.

Since the fire that destroyed the building in March 2023, everything has now happened outdoors, a tavern. A new season in view of which the John and Hugo Bonneviale brothers have worked all winter, still supervising the last preparations this Friday.

With among the new features a real imperial bus straight from England, even if it has meanwhile changed color. A vintage curiosity of 1975, as we find on the Lez market in Montpellier, and which required the talents of handyman of its new owners to give it a new life.

Salsa evening for the music festival

I’ve been looking for this type of bus for 5-6 years, Rejoices Hugo Bonneviale. We found it quite badly in an inn near Rodez and we put it back. This gives added value to the premises“, estimates the one who begins his 22nd season at the head of the Golf Café, surrounded by around twenty seasonal workers.

On the program of festivities, a live concert every Thursday evening and a salsa evening every Tuesday, without forgetting a set of time in time on Saturday at aperitif time. Saturday, June 21, the Gulf Café will organize a salsa evening for the music festival. Considered a “musical terrace”, the establishment is limited to two weekly evenings, with cutting music at midnight.

Customers will always be able to take advantage of the pétanque or beach volleyball court with a view of the Tarn, and the traditional catering offer: pizzas, grills, salads … an intergenerational place open to all.

Av. Of Millau Plage. Open daily until the end of August 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Closed on Sunday morning. For the opening on Saturday May 3, it is advisable to come on foot or by scooter, the parking lot being occupied during the fun fair.
