In an interview with the press published this Saturday, May 3, the candidate for the presidency of the Les Républicains party, Laurent Wauquiez, is virulent against the left party, rebellious France. “I have no respect for Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his allies”, assures the deputy of Haute-Loire.

The boss of the group Les Républicains in the National Assembly Laurent Wauquiez, currently in the campaign to become the party leader, calls on the JDD “to establish a health cord around LFI”, accusing the movement of Jean-Luc Mélenchon of “threat to France”.

In an interview put online on Saturday May 3 on the JDD website, the deputy of Haute-Loire accuses rebellious France of having “instrumentalized” the assassination of a Malian in a mosque in the Gard last week and of using the term Islamophobia “to flatter Islamism”.

“I have no respect for Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his allies. They are breaking with the Republic. It is a threat to France: they are the party of national destruction, a Trojan horse of Islamism”, accuses the former president of the Regional Council of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

He therefore claims the “Republican Parties” to establish “a health cordon around LFI” by renouncing any political agreement with leftist formation.

More PS-LFI alliance envisaged

The Socialist Party has already consumed its break with the rebellious. But on Saturday, in an interview with the newspaper.info site, the main opponent of Olivier Faure, the mayor of Rouen Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, candidate at the head of the party, reaffirmed that with him in the management of the PS, there would be no alliance with LFI in the event of next dissolution.

In the JDD, Laurent Wauquiez, who decided to show a very conservative face to reduce his surveys on his competitor for the head of the LR, the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau, also calls for “the creation of a commission of inquiry into the links between rebellious France and Islamist networks”.

“There is a form of red privilege in our country: a guilty media and political tolerance vis-à-vis the abuses of the far left and its connections with the Islamists,” he denounces.
