The storm only lasted a few minutes but it was enough to cause a few damage. In the afternoon of this Saturday, May 3, a downpour of Groes as large as golf balls in certain sectors fell on a large part of the Ile-de-France, and in particular in Paris. This temporarily impacted traffic on roads but also in public transport.

On the road side, a 180 -kilometer bottling peak was recorded between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., at the height of the downpour. It gradually came down at the end of the day, with 144 km of traffic jams reported on the Sytadin site around 6.30 p.m.

On the public transport side, the SNCF was “no particular rise”. At the RATP, it was noted that it is possible, during this type of bad weather, to observe some water entries in the stations, dangerous for travelers because it can cause falls for example. In these cases, access can be temporarily closed ”.

This was the case for Victor-Hugo stations on line 2, Porte-de-Champerret on line 3, Aubervillers Pantin-Quatre-Chemins on line 7 in the direction of Courneuve-8-May-1945, and Alma-Marceau and Voltaire on line 9, “stops not served due to floods”. At 7 p.m., still three stations were closed: Porte-de-Champerret on line 3, Alma-Marceau and Voltaire on line 9.

Delay … because of a boar

However, it was not reported “major problem” in the region. “Travelers are informed via dedicated accounts”, on social networks in particular. Station from the North, the situation seemed to be mastered in the middle of the afternoon. If some trains displayed almost an hour late, nothing to do a priori with the weather. A train would have struck a boar on rails causing significant slowdowns.

Paris. At the Gare du Nord, traffic seemed more disturbed by a boar than by bad weather. VH-M.

Since 5.30 p.m., the blue sky has been back above the capital and should allow a complete return to normal in the coming hours.
