More than 30 ° C in the shade in Normandy and Paris, 28 ° C in Touraine and in Poitou, the last three days have been summer over a major part of France. An episode of early heat “but not unprecedented” had recalled Météo-France this week. But after this record mercury, the thermometer should quickly drop on Saturday May 3 and Sunday 4, 2025, warns Météo-France.
Indeed, if the weather will be mild this Friday, May 2, with temperatures between 22 ° C and 28 ° C, the first clouds will arrive on France by Brittany and Cotentin. In parallel, first thunderstorms should declare itself on Provence, but also in New Aquitaine, from Biarritz to Bordeaux. In our departments a light cloudy veil will appear in the afternoon, with maximums between 26 and 27 ° C.
Thunderstorms and freshness on France
Saturday, May 3, a stormy disruption will cross France from north to south. Only the departments of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Pays de la Loire and Center-Val de Loire should be spared even if some rains are expected in Touraine on Saturday afternoon.
These thunderstorms will have the consequences of dropping temperatures. Thus, the maximums will be less than 20 ° C in the Hauts-de-France, in the Cotentin and in the Alps. Elsewhere, mercury will be between 20 ° C and 25 ° C.
This sudden fall in temperatures will be confirmed on Sunday May 4. A rain-leaning disturbance will cross the country from northwest to the southeast. Thus it will cry over a large majority of the country, including our departments of the Center-West, Sunday morning, before thunderstorms fell over the all-southern half in the afternoon. Temperatures will be between 13 and 20 ° C. A freshness that will settle for several days since Mercury should not exceed 20 ° C next week.
