East of Calgary and Edmonton, mayors are enthusiastic about the idea that the conservative chief Pierre Poilievre can be elected in the constituency Battle River – Crowfoot.
The Albertaine district, coveted by Pierre Hairy, has a long tradition of conservative voting, which makes believe that the chief will probably be welcomed with open arms when he presents himself in the upcoming by -election.
Recall that Mr. Hairyis was defeated on Monday in his district of Carleton, in the suburbs of Ottawa, a county he represented for more than 20 years.
Friday, the deputy conservative of the district, Damien Kurek, renounced his headquarters so that the conservative chief could return to the House of Commons.
It will be a unique point of fall for Mr. Poilievre, who grew up in Calgary and who spent his two decades of political career in Ottawa.

Danny Povaschuk, mayor of Hanna, is delighted that the chief presents himself in his constituency and he believes that he should be able to win it easily.
Monday, 82 % of the vote expressed in the constituency went to the Conservatives.
I am rather enthusiastic
said Danny Povaschuk. The small town of Hanna, located northeast of Calgary, saw the birth of the legend of the Flames, Lanny McDonald, and the nickelback metal group.
We are in Alberta. We are blue, right? I would say that it is a privilege, in fact, to have it in our constituency here, and I am relatively confident that he should be able to win.
Despite his career in Alberta, for residents of the constituency, Pierre Poilievre is known only by name.
Bruce Pugh, mayor of the city of Wainwright, hopes that Mr. Hairy will represent the constituency, even if he has no connection with the region.
Is he going to be very publicized and little represented? Will it be this kind of situation?
Heather Colberg, mayor of Drumheller, in the heart of the badlands, said that she was proud that Mr. Kurek retired to allow Mr. Hairy to run for a seat in Parliament.
It also expects it to represent the constituency again in four years.
I think Damien is an incredible person. He was an excellent deputy for us, but to give up his seat for the good of the party is simply admirable
said Colberg.
I am obviously very honored that Pierre Poilievre can represent us. And as he is from Alberta, I think he understands the general situation of the province perfectly.
According to her, the constituency is perfect for Hairyvre.
I think we are the most conservative riding in Canada, at least one of the most important. It is undoubtedly a state of mind in the rural regions of Alberta.
Battle River-Crowfoot is a vast and low-populated district which, according to Elections Canada, extends over nearly 53,000 square kilometers, more than countries like Switzerland or the Netherlands. Its population is around 110,000 inhabitants, which gives a population density of around two people per square kilometer.
Prime Minister Mark Carney indicated that the by -election will take place as soon as possible.
