On Saturday, photos and a video circulating on Facebook sowed the stir on the web. The images showed several large puddles of blood as well as police officers on the Place de Paris.
In a few hours, the message was shared more than 100 times and also reached the WhatsApp group Gare-Security district, in which residents regularly exchange information relating to security.
What is hidden behind the images
The hypothesis that it was a recent incident quickly spread. However, questioned by our colleagues from Luxembourg wordthe police first showed up surprised. She was not aware of an intervention on Saturday morning. Shortly after, the light was made: the images and the video are recordings of an incident already passed, which occurred on April 13, 2025.
In a police report broadcast at that time, we can read: “During the night of April 13, 2025, a police patrol was alerted by a passer-by near the Place de Paris that a man presented a cut in the arm. The agents immediately went to the man and gave him first aid pending the arrival of the emergency services. According to initial information, an altercation would have taken place before between the victim and several men. An investigation has been opened on this subject ”.
It was also specified later in the group WhatsApp Quartier Gare-Security that it was not a recent event. The initial Facebook post has meanwhile been deleted.
