Detonations evoking shots in the Matonge district in Ixelles were reported on Sunday morning, reports the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police, confirming information from the Dutch-speaking media Bruzz. No victim has been identified at this stage.
Several calls were sent to the police around 05:15 am Sunday morning to warn that shots were taken near Longue-Vie rue and rue de la Paix, in the Matonge district, in Ixelles. The units of the Anti-Agression Brigade (BAA) and the Territorial Interventions Brigade (BTI) went immediately on site. Two security perimeters were installed to secure the area. Traffic was interrupted in the sector until 10:00 am.
