The opportunity to raise awareness by making the effects of such temperatures feel, on your body, your brain or … on society.
“We do not realize how unlivable it is”. To raise awareness of the dangers of global warming, the Franco-Swiss explorer and researcher, Christian Clot, created the “Climate Sense” project, a truck that simulates the extreme conditions of a heat wave at 50 degrees. During a Tour de France, the researcher each invites each to spend 30 minutes in this immersive room while carrying out physical and cognitive exercise tests. Conclusion : “It is an environment that is not livable”, Summarizes Christian Clot, questioned on LCI on Saturday May 3.
“Even 30 minutes at this temperature show that we are in a situation that exceeds us and where the cognitive system deteriorates, where our operating capacity system deteriorates and even social functions deteriorate”he explains. “To be able to send the right cooling signals to the rest of the body and to itself, the brain degrades full of functions and in particular the functions of capacity to make society, the functions of deep reflection”, he continues. “A 50 degree society is a society that can no longer make democracy”says the explorer, who invites the country’s political leaders to come and test the system.
