Raquel Garrido’s adventure in season 4 of Traitors was coming to an end. In the last episode broadcast this Thursday, May 1 on M6, the politician was banished by the traitors Adil Rami, Sophie Tapie and Liane Fany. Before his elimination, the former deputy had refused to join the liar camp and had revealed the proposal of the latter in front of everyone, in the middle of the round table. A strategy that ultimately cost him his place in the castle. Throughout the shooting, Raquel Garrido had suspicions on several candidates, including Francis Huster, who did not appreciate that she could call her loyalty. For Télé-Loisirsthe lawyer confided in his relations with the actor, who went so far as to tell him that she was “Many”.

Télé-Loisirs : Why did you agree to participate in Traitors ?
Raquel Garrido : I agreed to participate because I find it a wonderful entertainment program. Life is difficult and it is rare to have the opportunity to laugh, to experience intense emotions and to ask with family, with friends and children. I find that this production is very well done and I am really very happy if by my participation I have been able to allow people to have a little time.
What did your loved ones think of your participation when you have been offered the program?
To tell the truth, it was rather my loved ones who convinced me to participate. It is especially in the eyes of my children, my husband and my friends that I understood that if someone could be able to be on several registers at the same time, that is to say the register of political engagement but also the register of simple human relations in the context of entertainment, it was me. Suddenly, they have supported me and I must say that since the start of the season they have been hanging on each episode. I don’t tell them anything, I don’t spoil.
What do your loved ones think of your game?
They find that what is shown in me corresponds to the reality of the person I am. They find that I created fairly original, fairly innovative episodes of play and that I am a good character. They sometimes even come to forget that they know me.

Did you already know the other candidates?
I knew Laurent Maistret because we did Fort Boyard Together in 2018. For the others, I went to see a play with Francis Huster and a Liane Fany show. I knew them as a spectator, as a fan or admirer. I knew the champions, champions and dancers of Dance with stars by their reputation and their work but not personally.
Have you woven links with other candidates? Have you stayed in touch with some of them?
Yes and I draw a very positive assessment. The links that have woven between us still continue to date. We have a WhatsApp group, we communicate, we give ourselves news. We see each other as much as possible. I went to see the latest Liane Foly show, Adil Rami invited us to his birthday … We really woven links and it is probably because for the first time, the shooting took place in the same castle as where we were sleeping, so we were really very close to each other permanently. We got on well and I believe that it shows in the game. It is also one of the reasons why the traitors are often destabilized this season, because there is a frank solidarity between loyal.
How did you experience the fact of being called “Many” by Francis Huster throughout the shooting?
Francis was even more attached than me to his role as Loyal, I understood him while watching the show. He is an actor who has never played a bad role and it is not for nothing. He has a very long career and has always refused to play the “Vilains”. Me, I had not understood that all his action towards the loyalty was 100% sincere and how it bruised him when I questioned him. It is true that I have often implicated it but for good reasons. I found sometimes that he disrupted the game, that because of his quotes we got lost there. He was one of the people with the most prestige, a magisterium, he had natural authority on the group, and I rather tend to insubordination towards authority so I was wary of his natural authority. Obviously, he reacted. He was implicated by me and reacted, that’s normal. I absolutely don’t hold it against him.
Do you think that your status as a politician and your lawyer was an asset or a weakness during your participation?
At first, it was really a weakness, but it became an asset. The shooting took place in 2024, after the dissolution of the National Assembly, and the others were a little interested in the political thing. Suddenly, I was a bit of a discussion living room around all this, because people wondered why the President of the Republic could appoint someone who had not won the elections, how the government could fall. I was asked if I thought that this or that parliamentary group was going to vote censorship. In fact, my knowledge of the political world and institutional rules also allowed me to deepen my relations with everyone.

Do you think the show allowed viewers to discover you in a new light?
I think, yes. In any case, what I see in the street, people tell me about it and are very happy with my participation. Some already knew Traitorsothers have discovered this game. But everyone is happy with my participation, I only receive congratulations and what I could see is me. Anyway, you can’t cheat. We are so together for a long time, the shooting lasts so long that you have to give yourself sincerely, otherwise it does not work.
Tell us about the association you play …
It is the Popular Secours of the city of Bobigny, which is the commune of Seine-Saint-Denis which I was deputy. This association does extraordinary job with families. This year and last year, it had to deal with significant costs, including the rise in the price of electricity which came to weaken its ability to help. This is why I chose this association. I am very attached to Bobigny, I am very attached to its inhabitants and I am very attached to these men and these women who bring solidarity to life.
Would you like to participate in another game on television?
For the moment, no. On the other hand, I saw that Paris Première had proposed to Éric Dupond-Moretti a format of debate which is called Alone against all And which will be broadcast in the coming days. That interests me. For me, it would be a beautiful challenge and I would be very ready to do so.
What are your projects for the coming months?
I continue my weekly program on LCI which is a face-to-face with Louis Sarkozy. It is a very interesting format because we are on 50 minutes, we really have time to tackle the subjects in depth. I also make a debate on RTL every Wednesday mornings. I have a book to finish and I also continue the movement that I launched with my friends in politics, which is called after, the association for the ecological and social republic. It is a party that aims to work in the unity of the Popular Front. And then, I pass the code to pass the driving license. I already had the code but it was made obsolete so there I finally set up. At 50, it is time that I get my driving license.
