Gildor, how do you feel like having a well-cooked? Nervous or excited?

I have been doing this job for too long now to start having regrets! I assume myself, I have a lot of self-mockery and I have no problem laughing at myself. Even that people close to me sometimes say that I should stop lowering myself as much by humor! (laughs) I just can’t wait, I think it will be a very nice evening!

He will also be animated by a friend who knows you well, Vincent-Guillaume Otis! What can he say about you?

I was first surprised and happy that he accepts this role, because it is not his kind of event, but he has a great comic talent that few have had the chance to see. People can discover it in a different light. He knows me very well, so he can surely find good anecdotes about me. For the moment, I don’t know who will be one of the guests and it may be better. I have no wait, I just want to have fun. As long as he does not invite too much of my ex! (laughs)

What place does humor take in your career?

I like to make people laugh anymore than playing in a dramatic, I find it more difficult and it gives me a challenge. I remember listening to a Gala just for laughter By being young and to hope to be able to find myself one day. It is not my first experience either, I hosted Michel Barrette’s well-kitchen and I also animated a gala with him. When I call myself by their team, I always say yes, because I know I’m in good hands.

You will be busy as well in the coming months with the filming of the second season of Dumas. What can you tell us about this suite?

We start again in mid-May and I already received a few pages of text. Let’s say that the characters will evolve during the winter … it starts as strong as the first season is over! I know my character and my partners, but I am still nervous. I can’t wait to start again, but I still have a little doubt: what if, suddenly, I was unable to get back into Jean’s skin? This is a question that often comes back to me when I take up significant roles.

The season is obviously a success with the public. Did this uniqueness felt immediately on the set?

The only person I had already rubbed shoulders with the whole team was Vincent Leclerc. So I got to know Jason Roy-Léveillé, Catherine-Anne Toupin and Marie-Lyne Joncas, among others. I also noticed, two weeks after the start of the shootings, which I had already met Lily Francke-Robitaille when she was a very small baby since I know very well her father, André Robitaille. I found it to be a beautiful moment to see her again. I have a lot of fun with the team.

It must be interesting for the actor to play in such loved public series …

It was an aspect that was extending for me. I didn’t want people to always see me like Commander Chiasson de District 31. I also did not want to allow criticism to talk about my descending slope if ever Dumas had been a less good series. Whether the project works or not, during filming, we constantly give the same energy, regardless of the results thereafter.

What are you attributing your success in recent years?

At times, I tell myself that people have seen me for so long that they have dropped! (laughs) I think it is a conjunction with lots of factors. I had the chance to participate in very good projects with powerful texts and a talented and motivated team, I also had good characters. The experience makes me know a lot what I do now.

Do you have family projects for the summer?

I will be busy throughout the summer period with the shootings of Dumas. We will have the month of August off before leaving until November. My granddaughter Laïa is four years old and she is now old enough to come and see her cushy work on the set, so I can’t wait to show her my universe. My other grandson, Enzo, is five years old, and recognized me recently on the screen by pointing television to my character of Jean Dumas.
