A previous conviction for similar facts
Two months after the claim, a 28 -year -old forbach man was thus arrested. Tenant of the building, arrived in Dijon in November 2024 for his paramedic post, and also briefly volunteer firefighter, he is suspected of having set fire to the building. His criminal record already contains a conviction, dating back to 2019, at 8 months suspended prison sentence for similar facts.
Having asked twice, and without success, his release, the suspect must be tried today in court.
Five years of imprisonment required, including one suspended
Around 6:20 p.m., the prosecution presented its Requisitions: The prosecutor Aurélie Lagarde spoke of “a puzzle that demonstrates guilt” of the accused. She therefore required a sentence of five years’ imprisonment, one of which had a reinforced probationary suspended sentence of three years.
In defense, Maître Gessat had, on the contrary, asked for the relaxation of the accused,, according to her, due to her elements of sufficiently solid guilt.
The court finally decided to sentence the defendant to five years in prison, two years suspended probationary for three years. It is therefore kept in detention.
