Saturday, April 5, the Russian Ministry of Defense boasted in a short press release for having led the previous evening “A high precision strike” against the place of an alleged meeting between Ukrainian commanders and “Western instructors”. The strike took place against “One of Krivoï Rog’s restaurants” (Russian spelling from Kryvyi Rig). She would have killed 85 among the “Military and foreign officers, and affected 20 military vehicles”indicates the text, quoted by the official agency Interfax.
The agency, as well as most of Russia’s media, does not evoke proven civil losses: 20 people, including nine children, around the play area near which the ballistic missile seems to have killed, as well as many injured in serious condition. Another point on which the Russians insist: this strike was not carried out using fragmentation ammunition, as the Ukrainian part affirms, but using a classic ballistic missile, probably an Iskander.
