The Belgian was virtually German champion seven minutes from the end of the match, before Leipzig tears the draw in extremis, after a crazy match.
Der Rekordmeister is an toe of the national title and could have been crowned today. He did not succeed this weekend in Leipzig, but could be crowned next week, and what is more, at home in front of his supporters.
“It is certainly not a bad result for us. We lacked many players, but we have come back well. I am proud of this result. We are very close now,” said the Belgian at a press conference on the match.
-Before today’s meeting, Bayern players had planned a trip to … Ibiza, while the championship is not yet finished. The trip was scheduled in private jet with a departure on Sunday, in the idea of celebrating the title which should not escape them.
But this trip will not finally take place: “We have echoed this trip and spoke to the team. It happened in a very transparent way. We explained that it is not appropriate in such a context, that the championship is not yet finished. The players have understood. There will therefore be no trip,” said the sports director of the club Max Eberl in Sky Deutschland.
