Flood risk meeting on Tuesday

Mardi May 6a public meeting will take place at 6.30 p.m. in the village hall (Place Louis-Blasi) concerning the new flood risk prevention plan (PPRI). The revision of the Torreilles PPRI is underway. To refine knowledge of risk, a specific study in flooding areas of AGLY Aval was launched at the end of 2020 by the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea (DDTM) and the AGLY union, and entrusted to Safege, a company specializing in engineering and advice, in particular in the fields of water and waste management. Similar work takes place on the downstream stretch. This public meeting will present the state approach. The future PPRI will have direct consequences on the town planning of the commune, because it will prevail on its local urban planning plan (PLU). It will establish rules to protect the population and goods: prohibition of new constructions in certain areas, preservation of spaces for expansion of floods and requirements to make buildings less vulnerable. This process includes discussion and consultation phases before an application provided for in 2025, under the aegis of the guarantee of security.
