The incident occurred this Friday, May 2, around 9 p.m. on Friday, at the Gallargues-le-Montueux toll on the A9 motorway.

It took almost 4 hours of intervention, 13 vehicles and no less than 25 Gard firefighters to reach the incident that occurred around 9 p.m. this Friday, May 2, just after the Gallargues-le-Montueux toll.

The task of the firefighters complicated by loading

The Gard firefighters were indeed called for a truck fire that occurred just at the exit of the A9 motorway. Upon their arrival, details the departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS)“the tractor had been skillfully designed by the driver, making it possible to limit the impact to the only fire of the trailer, fully destroyed”.

No injuries are to be deplored in this fire which mobilized significant human resources for several hours.

The driver is unharmed. But the task of the aid was not simple: the significant loading of treats carried by the heavy goods vehicle required a “Consequent deployment of means and prolonged intervention in order to quickly control the claim and allow rapid resumption of traffic on this strategic axis”, explains SDIS 30.

But thanks to a rapid and effective coordinated action, traffic was nevertheless been able to resume in the middle of the night on this strategic axis in the south of France.
