Carlos Alcaraz’s first coach has just released a book.
He evokes the years spent with Carlitos since he was by his side from 5 to 12 years old.
He gave a very long interview to our colleagues from Break point.
We feel that he did not really accept what happened, there is a lot of bitterness. This is often the case when the trainer coach passes the “hand”, he has the impression that his champion is stolen from him and the tedious work accomplished to form a champion.
This is all the more glaring that Carlos is not really happy with the place given to him in the Carlos Alcaraz adventure.
« I don’t have the place I deserve. I explain this problem in the book, I explain the real reason why I stopped causing Carlitos. It didn’t please his father and our relationships were a little cool [….] Over the years, they have recovered, but after the book, we have moved away from each other again. I do not know, I think I should be in a different position, in the end I did everything I could for this child, to the point of changing my personal and professional situation. If I had continued, I guess it would have been until an IMG or a high -level coach appears, even if they always told me that I would have my place, whether as assistant coach or as a physiotherapist. »»
