The hangar of the Port area of Chicoutimi turned into a real Alibaba cave on Saturday. As part of the very first meeting of Saguenay sports collectors, several enthusiasts in the world of the collection were able to exhibit their rarest sporting objects while being able to discuss with the curious.
A map of Fernando Alonso, a framework by Patrick Roy Autograpé and even a map of Connor McDavid during his visit to the Quebec Pee-Wee tournament.
These are some of the objects that were found on Saturday at the very first meeting of Saguenay sports collectors.
The founder of the event, which itself has more than 73,000 hockey cards, wanted to allow the most experienced collectors in the region and elsewhere in Quebec to exchange on their common passion.
Why is nothing here, but that elsewhere in the province, there is always a living room like this somewhere? It’s beautiful internet, but it’s always interesting to be in person
underlines Jocelyn Gagné.

Among the exhibitors present, we find the one called Monsieur pee-wee
Ghislain Bérubé, who has been collecting maps of the Quebec PEE-WEE tournament for over thirty years.
It’s a disease! It’s like working as a volunteer at the Pee-Wee tournament, it’s a disease. They baptized me Mr. PEE-WEE, then in 1992 I decided to collect hockey cards. Then, since then, it has been more and more popular.

A family affair
For some, the collection is a family affair. After collecting hockey cards in his youth, Frédéric Bouchard now shares his passion with his three sons.
I collect by their eyes, he shares. I had an old collection when I was young, then I decided to give them.
Her son Logan also had the bite. I always liked hockey, then I was trying to collect cards. My favorite player is Cole Caufield, so I decided to buy the card
he explains.
The artist Sylvie Poitras, who has personalized many goalkeepers, and the former referee of the National Hockey League, Justin St-Pierre, were also present to discuss with sports enthusiasts.

There are cases for sale and I think people exchange a little bit, said Justin St-Pierre. There are cards that I had never seen. They are really big collectors.
The head of the event, Jocelyn Gagné, already wishes to repeat the meeting next year.
