EXCLUSIVE. Amateur rugby (federal 1): after two seasons at the head of the FCL, Christophe Dulong passes his hand

essential
Just maintained in Federal 1 after its promotion from the Federal 2, the FCL will have to find itself a whole staff. After the departure of Bastien Masseboeuf, it is Christophe Dulong who will leave the Lourdais club.

Thunder at FCL. After two seasons at the head of the one of Lourdes, Christophe Dulong passes his hand. While his assistant, Bastien Masseboeuf, had already announced, in the middle of winter, that he was going to leave the club for personal reasons, it is the main trainer’s turn to return the apron.

In reflection for several weeks on his adventure on the side of Lourdes, the former coach of Bagnères-de-Bigorre has chosen to put an end to his commitment to the FCL after a rather successful mandate.

The FCL will have work to do during the offseason

Arrived at the head of the club in the summer of 2023, Christophe Dulong had allowed the Club de la Cité Mariale to ride in Federal 1 after a controlled season from start to finish. Promoted this year in the fifth division, Lourdes had done more than figuration.

By relying on experienced players, the FCL had started its beating drum season before knowing a stroke less well. Despite a team on alternating current, Christophe Dulong allowed Lourdes to win the two derbies of the season against the neighbor Bagnérais.

A season which ended with a commendable seventh place at a small point in sixth place synonymous with qualification for the play -offs of the French championship. In a good dynamic for two seasons, Lourdes will have to roll up their sleeves to hope to stay in Federal 1.

Because in addition to the loss of his staff of the first team, Anthony Bourgeois, coach of the reserve team, will also leave the club. A departure which is also added to those of the players who should be formalized in the coming weeks even if some are already known, like that of Aurélien Ricart who will join the South Hemisphere and Australia.
