Rugby: the hour of truth has come for the RCMP

The final stretch has arrived for the Rugby Club Méditerranée Palavas (RCMP) with a decisive match this first in May. After a long season, demanding and strewn with pitfalls, now places a new competition: the French championship.

To start this adventure, the Palavasians will first have to take the stage of the qualifying dam. Direction Isère, and more specifically Saint-Jean-de-Bournay, to face the country Saint Jeannais. Only a success will open the door to the 16th final. The Maritimes have sailed between disappointments and hopes, sometimes excluded from the qualification, sometimes very close to the podium. Finally, a 5th place came to reward their efforts, but imposes a perilous trip for this weekend’s match.

Hopes in the same boat

The hopes of the RCMP will also have to do. Faced with the same club, but this time on neutral field, they will try to impose their superiority. After finishing third in their pool, the young people of the Grobon-Latapie tandem leave slightly favorite against a team classified sixth.

While the seniors are preparing to take up their challenge, the youth pole of the RCMP continues to shine the colors of the club. Last weekend, the M16 and M19 competed in the second round of the dams of the Occitanie Championship. At home on the jockeys field in Palavas, the M16 signed a precious victory against Rodez (26-23). For their part, the M19 bowed to Sor Agout (23-17). Despite a hanging match and some missed opportunities, they stop at the doors of the final stages.

These results confirm the quality of the work carried out within the youth pole of the RCMP, a real breeding ground for the future of the club. Enough to feed great ambitions for the coming years.
