Last week, the French Rugby Federation in XIII organized the 1st inter-comedy of the women’s U15/U17, in Pia (Tarn, Aude, Catalan country, Lot-et-Garonne/Gironde, Sud/Haute-Garonne). A competition that succeeded in Tarnaises, whose players came from the clubs of Lescure/Arthès, Réalmont, Albi Rugby League, and Villefranche-d’Albigeois, since they won the title.
This team, led by the staff of Minotures and Griffons, was able to see the light of day thanks to the support of the Tarn Rugby Committee in XIII and the Departmental Council, as well as thanks to the presence of the territorial development agent Théo Guinguet, who brought additional assets during the competition as during the preparation of the latter. Several detection rallies, bringing together more than 35 players, were necessary to finally retain a group of 18 girls.
This success could not have been carried out without the investment of sports staff. Beyond the provision of players, they all worked so that this selection was a real team by being, from the start, at the heart of the project.
This reported shield of PIA proves that the 13th century is also available in feminine in the department. It is in this development framework that the RCLA undertakes, with the Lycée Rascol d’Albi and the Committee, for the first year, the establishment of a Rugby Section in Women’s XIII.
