
(Miami Gardens) The Australian Oscar Piastri (McLaren-Mercedes) made the best time of the first and only free test session of the Miami Grand Prix, sixth round of the World Formula 1 championship, Friday on the Miami International Autodrome (5.412 km) in Miami Gardens.

The leader of the world championship has largely preceded the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and the quadruple world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) of respectively 356 and 430 thousandths of a second.
A few hours earlier, the Dutchman (27) had made a remarkable entry into the paddock he had deserted on Thursday because he was going to become a father. He and his Brazilian companion Kelly Piquet (36) announced on Friday morning the birth of their daughter Lily.

The two wills of the Spaniard Carlos Sainz and Thai Alexander Albon took the fourth and fifth places, just in front of the French recruit Isack Hadjar, who honored the special Balon Pink Directed Director this weekend by his Racing Bulls.
The top 10 is completed by the British George Russell (Mercedes), the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull), the Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) and the Spanish veteran Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin).
The British Lando Norris only achieved 12e Chrono aboard the second McLaren, just in front of his compatriot Septuple World Champion Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari).
Only 17eFrench Pierre Gasly (Alpine) has ahead of the third Frenchman of the Grille, Esteban Ocon (Haas).
The session was interrupted five minutes before its term after an accident without gravity of the British recruit Oliver Bearman (Haas), which ended in a wall without however damaging his car too much.
The pilots now have an appointment with the qualifications of the Sprint race at the end of the afternoon on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
