French Pen Club Translation Prize: Call for Applications

These distinctions reward the literary quality of a work translated into French, whether it be poetry or narrative fiction (novel, story or new), without distinction of the source language or date of original publication. The emphasis is placed on the linguistic and stylistic finesse of translation, beyond any particular school or method.

Eligible translations must have been published on publisher in the last twelve months. A single work per translator can be subjected, and reissues are not retained. Applications are open to the translators themselves, but also to publishing houses who wish to enhance the work of their employees.

The two juries are made up of renowned poets, writers and translators. For poetry, Linda Maria Baros chairs a committee where Alexis Bernaut and Sylvestre Clancier sit in particular. On the fiction side, Philippe Pujas runs a jury made up among others by Josée Kamoun, Nedim Gürsel and Carole Mesrobian. The winners will be unveiled in the winter of 2025, after publication of a selection in the fall. The prices are equipped by the French Pen Club.

Applications open until June 15, 2025. For more information, we will consult the call below:
