The images broadcast by local media show a strongly damaged red car and a minibus on fire. Some victims were transported to the hospital by helicopter, “due to the severity of their injuries,” said the police.
A very touristy park
The authorities did not give elements concerning the identity or nationality of the persons involved in the accident. According to residents cited by the media, the road to a single route where the drama took place is generally very frequented, because it leads to one of the entrances to Yellowstone National Park.
Millions of tourists, Americans and foreigners, go to this national park each year, which is the very first created in the United States. It extends over part of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. The park is known for its geothermal activity and houses an impressive number of hot sources and geysers.
