American singer Amy Kyle unveils Bulldog, her first album with the Maurice group

On April 25, 2025, Amy Kyle released Bulldoghis very first album, with the Maurice group. It contains ten songs and is available in vinyl and on all streaming platforms. It is an important project for this American singer and musician, installed for several years in Samois-sur-Seine (Seine-et-Marne).

“A musical soul”

Amy Kyle is a complete artist: singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, she studied classical, lyrical song and has a soprano voice. But after her installation in France in 2014, she decided to devote herself to the music that touches her the most, jazz and folk. “When I got here, I immediately felt that it was an ideal place to create,” she smiles. This village has a real musical soul. »»

The title of the album, Bulldogis a nod to Pauline Viardota large French singer and composer from the 19th century^e century. Amy, then living in the United States, devoted a musicology thesis to him in 2017.

“As a child, she was nicknamed Bulldog because of her very determined character. It inspired me a lot, says Amy Kyle. In my opinion, Bulldog represents the strength and perseverance of continuing and believing in his dreams. »»

The songs of the album tell personal stories, memories, but also strong ties with nature and the places where she lived. If she wrote songs in the United States, she imagined Piece of Blue in Bois-le-Roi, and Sunrise Symphony On the banks of the Seine, in Samois.

“I have a very strong connection with nature here,” she insists. Many of my songs are inspired by forests, light or water. The Maurice group formed around this project. It is made up of Guillaume Perrin on guitar, Slim abida at the bass, Laurent Sériès on battery and Claire Desmoulin to the violin.

“We share the same musical desires: my lyrical song has evolved towards a more free, more intimate form, thanks to them. »Group’s music is difficult to classify. Amy describes her as “adjacent jazz”, tinged with other influences, folk, indie and improvisation … The creation work began in 2022 with producer Pajaro Canzani, in his studio in Vulaines-sur-Seine: “He brought a lot to the album by capturing the spirit of my songs”.

She then continued work in a Parisian studio. The official launch of the album will be accompanied by a concert in Paris, on the Péniche Marcounet, on May 14. An opportunity to discover the live songs.

Two hundred vinyl copies of Bulldog were manufactured, and a Parisian record store participates in the distribution of this first draw. With Bulldog, Amy Kyle shares a rich and personal musical universe, inspired by her Samois life, marked by poetry and meetings.
