To celebrate their sixth anniversary, I-Dle, formerly (G) I-Dle, launched a project marking on May 2, 2025. The group released We are i-dlea special mini album made up of nine headlines re -recorded only by the five current members: Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua.
This comeback was also an opportunity for the group to turn a new page by officially abandoning the “G” of their name. This symbolic choice marks their desire to go beyond gender labels and to assert a more fluid artistic identity.
But this change was not unanimous in the Fandom. If some see it as a natural evolution, others wonder about the symbolism behind the absence of Soojin in this anniversary project.
The former member, who had left the group in 2021 following a controversy linked to accusations of school harassment (of which she was then innocent), was not included in the re-recorded versions. This choice divided fans.

For his part, Cube Entertainment said that this rebranding is a way of expressing a renewed artistic vision. The new logo, made up of tiny letters surrounded by a circle, symbolizes both infinity and freedom. A star built from five “I” represents the unity and individuality of the current members. THE Korea Times confirmed that all members renewed their contract with the agency in December 2024. This confirms their commitment to continue together, despite the changes.
Since their beginnings with Latata In 2018, I-Dle has established itself as a daring group in the world of K-Pop. Titles like Oh My God, TOMBOYor more recently Queencardconsolidated their place on the world scene.
Their second studio album 2released in 2024, met with great success. With Super Ladythe group exploded on Korean and international charts. Other bangers such as Wife, Fate et Revenge Also marked the fans, in particular thanks to their virality on the networks.
Their eighth mini album is scheduled for May 19, 2025. This will be the first official project under the name I-Dle.
