Andreas Kisser, guitarist of Sepultura, says he is not worried about his future after the end of the group. In an interview with Jarek Szubrycht of Mystic Festivalhe shares his serenity in the face of this new stage in his career, and evokes with emotion the last tour of the group.
Andreas Kisser keeps confidence for the future after Sepultura
While Sepultura lives in the last months of her farewell tour, Celebrating Life Through DeathAndreas Kisser spoke about his post-sepultura future in an interview made for the Mystic Festival from Poland. The guitarist, member of the group since 1987, said: “I am not really concerned about my future after Sepultura. I will continue to make music. This is what I like, what I do [au quotidien]. I’m not going to leave Sepultura to sell cars. ”
This serenity follows from a busy career and already underway projects: Kisser is active with his group parallel of Tierra, hosts a radio program in São Paulo with his son for 13 years, and plans to create educational videos on his style of play and the music of Sepultura. He also mentions a reggae project in collaboration with Derrick Green, current singer of the group. “It’s a bit scary, but it’s also very exciting to feel this freedom”, he confides.
A last round world tour for Sepultura
The last Sepultura concert is scheduled for 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil. This final step will mark the end of a musical adventure over forty years. “It’s the right time”, Andreas estimates. “Forty years old is an incredible step. We have a wonderful story, we come from Brazil, we have played in nearly 80 countries and we have introduced Brazilian music to the world of metal.”
The current tour includes passages in regions never explored before by the group, such as Iceland or certain areas of Africa. A live album is also in preparation: the group records 40 songs in 40 different cities, in order to compile the most energetic moments of its concerts.
Regarding the last concert, Andreas is hoping for a big party including former members, including the Max and Igor Cavalera brothers (who do not seem to want to take part in the event). “There is no reason to argue. Let’s just go on stage, take advantage of the moment. It will be a fantastic celebration for fans.”
