Suzanne Vega - Flying with AngelsSuzanne Vega - Flying with Angels

Eleven years later Tales from the Realm of the Queen of Pentacles, Suzanne Vega is back with a tenth album, in his traditional style, between pop, rock and folk … also flirting with the blues or the soul. Lael Neale – Altogether Stranger

Lael Neale - Altogether StrangerLael Neale - Altogether Stranger

We remember having discovered Lael Neale in 2021 with the very singular Acquainted With Night. In 2023, it was found with a much less stripped album, confirming her talent to compose fragile pop songs, out of time. In continuity, she presents this very short Altogether Strangerin a production that is always fairly lo-fi, but with melodies still as adorable. Listen

Louis Philippe & The Night Mail – The Road To The Sea

The Road To The SeaThe Road To The Sea

New collaboration between Louis Philippe and the group The Night Mail After the superb Thunderclouds published in 2020. The one that has been part of its inception in the wake of Beach Boysand more generally of a neat and melodious pop, also known for his collaborations with Sean O’Hagan or Bertrand Burgalatfind Andy Lewis, Ian Button, Robert Rotiferfor 14 silky, graceful, bright titles. Big Louis Philippe ! Listen

Jenny Whale – Iris Silver Mist

Iris Silver MistIris Silver Mist

Without ever deviating from his musical trajectory, Jenny Whale continues its way with regularity and quality that force respect. The Norwegian quadra dazzles once again on this Iris Silver Mist Where its art-pop with minimalist contours and Dream mixes sweetness with sophistication. Never easy but never too convoluted either, the album finds its balance according to the finds and the original ideas of its composer. Listen

Car Seat Headrest – The Scholars

The ScholarsThe Scholars

Raised to the rank of entity/cult group by a fan-base of purists from Indie-Rock, Car Seat Headrest is not likely to displease its listeners with the usual formula: a little more than an hour of rock intelligently worked with tracks spanning the ten minutes for some. Toledo And hers know each other and recite the lesson properly once again. Listen

Mei Semones – Animaru

Mei Semones - AnimaruMei Semones - Animaru

For a first try, here is a great success. Author/composer/interpreter, With semones24 years old, cultivates a completely charming universe where the indie-rock tunes find jazzy, bossa or chamber pop vital in a light, sweet and solar setting. Very well produced not to spoil anything, they are the kind of small nuggets to discover. Listen
