Korn continues without him, but Fieldy leaves an open door: “You never know”

Fieldy, the emblematic bassist of Korn, does not seem ready to find his group as soon as possible, but he does not totally exclude a return to the future, as he hinted in a recent interview granted to The Dr. Greenthumb Show.

Fieldy remains behind … but keep the door ajar

Invited to answer a fan question on a possible return to Korn, Fieldy was direct: “I will not play any concert, but we will see what tomorrow has in store for us. We never know. But for the moment, no. I already have a lot to do.”

A declaration which confirms that the artist remains distant from Korn for the moment, while leaving a share of ambiguity. As a reminder, Fieldy had officially set back from the group in 2021 in order to take care of himself and refocus, evoking “bad habits” linked to excessive alcohol consumption. He had then been replaced on stage by Ra Díaz (Suicidal Tendencies), although he recorded the Basse games on the album Requiem published in February 2022.

In a previous interview with the podcast Basement Talk At the beginning of 2025, Fieldy had surprised by revealing that he had not spoken to his former Korn companions since 2019, two years before his official withdrawal: “They continue their journey, it’s a machine. It’s crazy to see that they hold out like that. It’s cool to see them continue, but I need to ask myself.”

A prolonged parenthesis for Fieldy

Since his departure, Fieldy has been focused on other projects, including Stillwell, his group founded with Noah “WUV” Benardo by Pod and Q-UNIQUE. He recently announced that the group was going to evolve towards a heavy sound, with a new extended training. In addition, Fieldy continues to compose, paint and also work on a new book.

For his part, Korn does not slow down the pace. The group has just announced an exceptional Canadian tour for the fall of 2025 with Gojira and Loathe, as part of the thirtieth anniversary celebrations of its first album. This tour follows a busy year for Korn, which will notably be playing major festivals such as Hellfest, Download Festival and Graspop Metal Meeting.

It remains to be seen who will hold the bass on the group’s next album. Ra Díaz seems well installed, but a possible reinstatement of Fieldy is not completely dismissed. In the meantime, fans can continue to hope … and watch for the clues.
