Three years after leaving Sidilarsen, drummer Samuel Cancel announces his return with a solo project entitled Belly. The first single, entitled The breakswill be released on May 16. An introspective and visceral return, after a period of withdrawal in the Ariège mountains.

Samuel Cancel returns with a new project baptized belly

In a press release addressed to MetalzoneSamuel Cancel – former Sidilarsen drummer – announced the birth of his new musical project: belly. After a long media silence since his departure from the group in 2022, the musician returns with an unprecedented artistic direction, which he describes as “Electro rock trip (es)”.

The first single, The breakswill be released on May 16. This song marks the start of a new chapter, both personal and artistic, for the one who shared 27 years of road with Sidilarsen. “This time allowed me to refocus, breathe, rebuild myself and little by little, the desire to create came back”he writes with emotion.

A new path after Sidilarsen

The departure of Samuel Cancel from Sidilarsen was announced in March 2022, after more than two decades spent behind the barrels. At the time, he had entrusted: “I need to take a new path, close to my family and nature, to choose me.”

Since then, the Toulouse group has continued its way with a new album, That the light isand a large French tour entitled Adelphité Tourwhich will notably pass through Olympia on October 11, 2025.

With belly, Samuel Cancel seems to offer an intimate and artistic response to this need to return to oneself. A musical proposal that promises to be sensitive and organic, to be discovered from May 16.
