What a fall for Tesla. The Elon Musk firm suffered in April. According to figures published this Thursday, May 1 by the automotive platform (PFA), the brand recorded a decrease in sales of 59.23% In April 2025, compared to April 2024.
Only 868 cars were therefore sold on French territory during this period. Far from the 2,129 vehicles delivered a year ago, over a month with the same number of working days.
Which goes hand in hand with a significant decline since January. In January, February and March, sales were less worse than in April (they were far beyond the thousand vehicles sold). Nevertheless, Tesla has suffered with a fall of 44% of registrations since January.
Less than 10,000 cars were sold over the first four months of the year (Exactly 7,564). It is less than the simple Renault 5 (11,454 sales since January 2025). No Tesla is even in the top 20 best -selling models in France, since the start of the year.
Weariness and politics to explain Tesla’s fall in sales in April?
A downward trend in sales that lasts, therefore. And which can be explained by several factors. First because of the Tesla range. The latter is in full renewalwith the arrival of the new model in particular. This may explain that some customers delay their purchase.
-But prospects would be also tired of the Tesla style, as well as the absence of real new models. Because no novelty has emerged from the Cybertruck (which is not marketed in Europe). Not enough to help keep the flame on for buyers.
Finally, Elon Musk’s positions and political actions with Donald Trump can also play. This can divert buyers from the brand. And the latter undergoes real bashing in recent months, with actions of citizen against concessions and vehicles of the brand.

To summarize
The month of April 2025 was difficult for Tesla. Registrations were in free fall over the last 30 days, with less than 1,000 sales over the month. A new decline for the Elon Musk firm, faced with difficulties since the end of last year.
