Interview. Rougemontiers. This project manager created its small business for individuals

In February 2025, the project manager Laurent Poulain created his company Ellap Concept in Rougemontiers (Eure), for individuals.

The awakening of Pont-Audemer. Before creating your project management company, has your professional career have always been related to the building world?

Laurent Poulain: “Yes, it’s been twenty years since I have been in the construction industry. I started as an electrician. From 2011, I became a work manager, before being a business manager, agency manager and finally manager in a large construction group. I have always loved real estate constructions. »»

What pushed you to launch your business?

“Today, I still work in a large group. We are pushed to make figures. I want to find the human side of the company, have contact and reach out to customers. Creating my business is also the possibility of organizing your time differently by enjoying my family. In the short or medium term, I hope to leave my post and devote myself 100 % to my company. »»

As a prime contractor, what do you offer to individuals?

I specialize in the construction of new houses, expansion and renovation. I develop the plans with my clients, I consult trusted craftsmen before presenting a global quote. If the customer agrees, I present to him in detail all the quotes of the craftsmen. Then I take care of the coordination of the work until the site is received.

Do you work with subcontractors?

No I make sure that the site is well done from start to finish, from building permit to handing over the keys. The objective is that the customer is the least stressed as possible. I work with local businesses and within a geographical radius of 50 kilometers around RougeMontiers. Having local sites allows you to go there at least once a week. The customer is just a spectator. He only pays for the progress of the work.

Finally, what does Ellap Concept mean?

Ellap corresponds to the letters of the first names of my family: my children Eulalie and Léopold, myself Laurent and my partner Alexandra. The last letter, p, corresponds to the name Poulain.
