Saying to be sober for 28 years, Gary Oldman has confided in his former alcohol problems in an interview which he recently gave British magazine Radio Times.
The 67 -year -old actor who made a return to the stage these days in York, in England, notably returned to his alcohol consumption during the filming of the film The scarlet letter (The Scarlett Letter), about thirty years ago. He notably mentioned a particular day, during which he deems having exceeded the terminals.
“I had drunk too much during the dinner break,” said Gary Oldman. It was really destructive. I still returned to the set to shoot a fairly large scene and I managed to finish it. We don’t really notice it [dans le film]but I was a little pomotte while turning this scene. ”
The day after this incident, the actor known for his roles in Dracula et The black knight It felt so bad for having lacked professionalism to this point that he had gone to apologize to his game partner in the film, actress Demi Moore.
“I told her that I was really sorry and that she had to hate me,” he said. She replied that she did not hate me, but that she was just disappointed. ”

Gary Oldman stopped drinking in 1997, a few years after this episode. He often said that his decision to become sober had saved his life.
