Jean-François Davy, director and producer of pornographic films, died at the age of 79

His documentary “Exhibition” was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in 1975. It was a success in theaters and the first film X broadcast on Canal+.

The director and producer Jean-François Davy, author of the first pornographic film broadcast on Canal+, died on Friday May 2, on the eve of his 80 years, we learned from his family. The filmmaker died at home in Paris, said his son Mathieu Davy to AFP.

His career had started in the years 1960 and 1970 and he had been successful with Exhibition. This documentary, started behind the scenes of a shoot with actress Claudine Beccarie presented in Cannes in 1975, met with theaters and was the first film X broadcast on Canal+. Jean-François Davy produced and produces pornographic or sometimes conventional films up to the years 1980. He developed an important activity of video editor, before returning behind the camera in the years 2000.
