So many winters, François Marcotte

“He was a man who was in the media several years ago because he had done a socio -financing campaign to have more care in CHSLD, like more baths. His novel talks about the reality of a man who goes from a normal life to this winter where he is locked in his body. I find it very interesting. Sometimes we forget how much to have a normal life is not a chance that we all have. Reading this book puts things in perspective. How a man who is trapped in his body can continue to have a life in his head and succeed in creating with technological tools … It is introspection in the reality of another which is different. »»

Memory pieces, Mathieu Dubé

“It’s a slightly expensive book-it costs $ 50-, but I think it’s worth it, it’s a good value for money when you think about it. It is a collection of poetry that is made with fragments of journals, cut words. It makes an impressive book-object because it is not only infographic, they are poems made from photos of glued poems. [L’auteur] is a guy with whom I played soccer when I was little. What I like to objects is that I put them on the corner of a table and when I pass, I look at them. From time to time, I open this book, I read three or four pages then I close it. It is very beautiful. »»

The Lehman brothers, Stefano Massini

“I worked at the headquarters of a Canadian bank on September 15, 2008 when the investment bank Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. A real symbol of the financial crisis. It was a few years later that this book fell into my hands under the recommendation of a bookseller. It is a unique novel that combines a form of poetry, part of the history of the United States and a family saga. Who would have thought that the banking world could express themselves in such a creative form? I had never read such a surprising mix of genres. »»
