King Charles has been receiving a treatment for a form of cancer not disclosed since the beginning of 2024 and in a shared message during a reception organized at the Buckingham Palace for charitable organizations of cancer on Wednesday evening, he expressed his gratitude to the people who supported him.
He said: “Each diagnosis, each new case, will be a discouraging and sometimes frightening experience for these people and their loved ones. But as I myself be one of these statistics, I can testify to the fact that this experience can also highlight the best in humanity. This certainly allowed me to appreciate even more deeply the extraordinary work undertaken by the organizations and the remarkable people gathered here this evening, including many that I have known, visited and supported over the years. And this has reinforced what I have observed for a long time during these visits, namely that the darkest moments of the disease can be illuminated by the greatest compassion. ”
