In September 2024, police announced the arrest of a 32 -year -old man, qualified by the Interior Ministry as “direct death of death” of the civil guards. Two other arrests followed two months later.

On February 9, 2024, a narcotrafiating boat had rushed on the boat of the police in the bay of Cadiz. Two of the occupants of the police boat died, and others were injured.

Several videos, abundantly relayed by social networks, had shown a chase in the port between several very fast boats in the middle of the night, in the midst of the waves caused by the back and forth of the boats, a case that had marked public opinion.

The bay of Cadiz is the regular theater of drug seizures by Spanish customs agents or the police.

At the end of August, a drug trafficker died in another boat chase with civil guard agents in the mouth of the Guadalquivir river, near Cadiz, in Andalusia while trying to unload several dozen ballors of hashish.

Spain is one of the main points of entry of drugs into Europe, in particular the Spanish region of Andalusia (South), due to its proximity to Morocco where cannabis resin, then exported to Spain, is produced.
