Philips Hue recently published firmware updates for Hue Bridge and Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 4K. These are two relatively minor versions, which arrive a few weeks after their predecessors.
The Philips Hue Bridge ($ 41.89 currently on Amazon) receives the 1970188010 software version. Version notes indicate general improvements in performance and reliability for this intelligent lighting hub, although no other detail is provided. According to the company, all users of the Hue Bridge should benefit from it.
Meanwhile, the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 4K (currently $ 249.99 at Amazon) receives version 2.5.1 from the micrologiche https://www.philips-hue.com/en-us/support/release-notes/philips-hue-play-hdmi-sync-box. Again, the version notes here are sparse, indicating that there are general bug corrections, and this update should be available for most users, if not all, at the deployment stage. As a reminder, at the beginning of April, Philips Hue deployed version 2.5.0 for HDMI synchronization boxes. This version also made bug corrections to the 4K model, while the 8K variant supported the Display Stream Compression (DSC) Pass-Through, 3D content pass-Through and light synchronization of light at 144 Hz.
To make sure you receive these updates, check that you have activated the automatic updates in the Philips Hue application; You can do this by going to Settings> Software update> Automatic update.
