Miami Grand Prix | Lando Norris wins a spectacular sprint race

(Miami Gardens) The McLaren Lando Norris pilot won an eventful sprint race on Saturday as part of the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Norris first crossed the arrival thread of this shortened event of 18 laps in front of his teammate, Oscar Piastri, and the Ferrari Lewis Hamilton driver.

Alex Albon (Williams), George Russell (Mercedes), Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) and Oliver Bearman (Haas) followed, in order. Only the first eight pilots get ranking points in a sprint race.

Pilot Mercedes Kimi Antonelli, who was rushed at the head position, was the victim of a hung with the reigning quadruple world champion, the Red Bull Max Verstappen driver, in the well line. Antonelli resulted in 10e Place, and Verstappen – who received a 10 -second penalty for hanging – at 17e step.

In addition, Stroll’s teammate at Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso, was also the victim of a hanging, this time on the track, and he was forced to abandon. The race therefore concluded under the yellow flag.

The start of the Sprint race was delayed by a few minutes due to the torrential rain that fell in the sector, in the shade of the hard rock Stadium, the home of the Dolphins of Miami, in the NFL.

Pilot Ferrari Charles Leclerc was also the victim of a trail outing during the heating round, while the rain was supported, and, consequently, he could not take the start of the race.
