Death of Moroccan actor Mohamed Choubi

Moroccan actor Mohamed Choubi died on the night of Thursday to Friday in Rabat, at the age of 63, after a long fight against the disease, we learned from the Moroccan union of dramatic art professionals.

Born in Marrakech in 1963, the deceased was one of the most present Moroccan actors on the national artistic scene. A graduate of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art and Cultural Animation (Isadac) in Rabat, he camped various roles in theater, television and cinema.

Throughout his career, the late Choubi has played in several plays including “Son et Lumière” by Tayeb Saddiki, “seat” by Moulay Lahcen Idrissi, “Kharboucha” by Lahbib Lasfer and “La Porte Close” by Youssef Fadel. He also staged theatrical works such as “improvisation”, “hysteria”, “the city and the sea” and “the letters of the palm”.

The deceased has also taken part in several series and TV movies, notably “Mohamed El Hayani”, “The Devil’s Powder”, “El Mejdoub”, “Allam El Khayl”, “Moul Lmlih” and “Hayna”.

In the cinema, Mohamed Choubi has held out significant roles in many successful films including “Malak”, “Death for sale”, “A thousand months”, “The beating of fate”, “The Route des Femmes”, “The Moroccan Symphony” and “The Orchestra of the Blind”.
