Miranda Corsette, an American teenager aged 16 and mother of a baby under a year old was killed in excruciating conditions in Florida. A couple is accused of having removed it, tortured and then killed.
According to a search warrant obtained by the Tampa Bay TimesSteven Gress and Michelle Brandes (aged 35 and 37 respectively) would have attracted their victim at home last February, after having come into contact through a meeting application.
She “stole my ring to me, so I made her skin”
After their first meeting, Steven Gress would have invited Miranda Corsette to come back. Shortly after, he accused him of stolen a ring. Then begins a week of torture, during which he hit the girl, sometimes under the eyes of witnesses. “This little S ***** stole my ring from me, so I make her skin,” he said to a neighbor. The teenager would have died muffled with a billiard ball pressed into the mouth, her head wrapped in plastic.
According to the investigators, the couple then went to eat in a local fast food then play minigolf, to celebrate the birthday of Michelle Brandes. It was only after that they would have thrown the body dismembered in a dumpster. Another chilling detail and still according to local authorities: six people were informed or had seen images of Miranda Corsette in distress. Steven Gress would have shared photos with several contacts.
Prosecutors want to ask for the death penalty
Despite the absence of a bodies, indirect evidence accumulates. The investigators believe that the girl was killed between February 20 and 24. Her grandmother, who had her guard after the death of her parents, reported her disappearance on the 24th. She thought of a fugue, as had already happened to her.
