On which scene do you dream of performing?
The Olympia of Paris.
What song would you have liked to compose?
There are two, Smile by Charlie Chaplin, which is an extraordinary text, true and of simplicity. And The staircase by Paul Piché. You hear it at 20 is one thing, you hear it at 40, it’s another matter and there, I am 54 years old, and all of a sudden it takes another meaning.
What book would you have liked to write?
The alchemist From Paulo Coelho, this is a book that I like to read on occasion. A bit like the song The staircaseit feels good at different times in your life.
With what personality would you like to discuss for an hour?
I would like it to sit with Mr. Yvon Deschamps. Last summer I had the chance to host an evening for the 80th anniversary of Robert Charlebois, and he made an impeccable number. It is lit as a stove round this man.
What show would you have liked to attend?
I would have liked to be in Wembley to see Freddie Mercury give his latest show, during the Live Aid. And also attend the Elvis show in 1968, his Comeback Special.
If you started your life again, what other job would you practice?
When I got out of the army I had letters of recommendation to go to the RCMP. What I would have liked to do is be a police officer, but in the tactical squad.
What other talent would you have liked to have?
Be a good musician.
-An international star that you would have liked to meet?
Mohamed Ali for his boxer talent and for the greatness of man, his intelligence, his convictions. He changed things, it’s a monument that marks a life.
With what star would you like to share a romantic supper?
Julia Roberts, at the time of Pretty Womanand a half Moore, when she played in Ghost. And you can tell them that I pick up the bill!
Are there things in your life that you would do differently?
No, because both good and bad strokes are part of my journey.
What great film would you have liked to play the main role?
At the time, the director of the film Funkytown offered me the main role. I was a radio guy, and I sold badly. Patrick Huard played the character and he was extraordinary. If I had been less hesitant, I think it could have been a role for me.
If you could go back in time, what would you say to Mario the 16-year-old teenager?
I would surely tell him to do less, but it is the work of a life.
What would you change in your life?
My impulsive side, my bad character, I would like to have more patience. It seems that it comes with wisdom, but it is not my case! I have always been extreme in everything, it is always the pedal at the bottom.
If you could, who would you bring back to life?
My father and my dog that I lost last year, I had it for 13 years. He was my best friend.
You win $ 50 M, what would your first expenses be?
I would spoil my children, I would buy them a house each, and I would go around Asia with them.
What great madness would you like to do one day?
I would like to pay a training camp like a real boxer, two weeks in Cuba where are the best boxing schools in the world. Or, go to Porto-Rico or to Mike Tyson’s gym in the Bronx. We agree that at 54 years old, I will never be a big boxer, but I would like to live the trip.
If you could decide the menu for your latest meal, what would your choice be?
It is certain that it is chef Amine Laabi who does it to me, with his Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine who smells of basil, olive oil, couscous. And Martin Picard who would stuff me with foie gras. I would pay for the milking and I would eat until I am no longer able!
