A car rushed into the crowd this Friday, May 2 in Stuttgart, in the southwest of Germany, killing and seven injured, according to local police, which indicates that “there is currently no proof of an attack or a deliberate act”.
“Based on our current investigations, our colleagues on site think that this is a tragic accident,” said police on his X account.
The driver of the vehicle arrested
“A car struck a group of people” in the Olgaeck district of the downtown Stuttgart, said the same source, which had initially reported “eight injured, including three serious”.
One of the seriously injured people, a 46 -year -old woman, died in the hospital following her injuries.
The German security services are under maximum alert statement following several deadly attacks to the ram car in recent months, especially in the cities of Magdeburg (East) and Munich (South).
A police spokesperson said that the tragedy had occurred “around 5.50 pm” and that the driver of the vehicle, a large 4×4 Mercedes Noir, had been arrested, without giving more details.
Police recommended the population on Friday to avoid the Stuttgart center, warning major disruption in car traffic.
A broken stroller was always visible at the scene of the accident in the early evening. According to the daily Bild, witnesses indicated that a woman who was pushing the stroller was among the injured.
