Derby evening on the banks of the Lot on the occasion of the 24e and ancientth day of NM3 with the meeting between the Villeneuve BC and the BC Layrac/Astaffort, currently 5e et 6e of this hen C.
During the first leg, the Layracais won 91-89 before the Villeneuvois gained a superb series of seven consecutive victories to come and have the top of the ranking. Today, if the two training courses have achieved their main objectives of the season, the meeting will not be devoid of interests and should make it possible to attend a good meeting with regard to the quality of play proposed by the two representatives of Committee 47.
On the Villeneuvois side, you intend to take revenge on the first leg and then finish the season on the podium while offering a nice outing to some of its executives who will stop at the end of the season.
“The cut did us good after five consecutive games,” says Brice Fréon, the VBC coach. The whole group wants to do well so that we can take our revenge on the first leg. The defeat remains one of the negative points of our season against the other team of the department and then we of course want to remain undefeated in Maurice-Lang. But beware, if there is a rivalry between the two teams, it is a friendly rivalry, without animosity, with great respect between the players and the staff. »»
-Same story on the Layraci side with the desire to do well, to practice a beautiful basketball while being aware of the quality of the opponent. The BCLA expects to suffer, especially since its interiors Fabo and Youssouf-Huard are uncertain, but also knows that it is able to compete with Villeneuve like the first leg.
“There is no major issue in terms of classification,” notes Fred Albisua, the BCLA coach. However, it remains a derby and everyone wants to win. We know they are going to be revengeful but it is the interesting type of match to play. All the elements are gathered for a good basketball match. »»
Victory in case …
Among the girls, it will be the last outing of the championship season for AC2B this season with the reception of the Toulouse Métropole Basket reserve (Sunday 3 p.m.). The objective will be to defeat the Toulousaines hoping for a defeat of Brive in order to grab a place in the classification and to hope for a hypothetical recovery in NF3.
“The objective will of course be to finish well in front of our audience,” admits Brayan Gutierrez, the AC2B coach. Opposite, we will have young people but depending on the players selected with the pennant team, it is not always the same thing. We have of course regrets because we do not run away far from the truth, it’s a shame. »»
