Installed for the first time at the heritage hall, the exhibition “Le Printemps de la Photo” of the Creusot photo club unveils nearly 200 shots in series, with Sophie and Daniel Meunier as guests.92bb46c32b.jpg

It is to be discovered every afternoon until May 11.
It is in an unprecedented place that the photo club of Creusot, chaired by Thierry Martinet, launched his annual exhibition “The spring of the photo”. Accustomed to the walls of the arc, the event found refuge at the heritage hall this year, the time for the work of the cultural center. A choice, but also a logistical challenge as much as artistic, that the volunteers took up with enthusiasm and resourcefulness: “Tuesday, we put the gray tablecloths against the walls. Wednesday, when we returned, we saw that everything had fallen … Fortunately, the members are good handymen, “smiles the president.

The exhibition, visible from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. until May 11, brings together some 200 shots divided into series. Two of them, distinguished by a 3rd place ex aequo in National 1, allowed their authors to qualify for the Coupe de France – a shared pride within the collective.

To these sets is added an original “image wall”: each member exhibits his favorite photo, accompanied by a personal word explaining his choice. A way of linking a little photo and writing and sending a little wink to the guests of honor of this edition, which are Sophie and Daniel Meunier. Photographer for one, poet for the other, they combine their talents to offer a sensitive double reading of chosen moments. “The goal is to create emotions,” says Sophie. “I take the photos, and if they inspire Daniel, he writes. “The writer, he evokes a” meeting of two arts through intimately given moments “, with the ambition” to awaken souls “.

During the opening, the assistant to culture Jérémy Pinto praised the work of scenography: “The role of the club is also to create the relationship. “A remarks joined by the mayor David Marti, who stressed the importance of photography in the collective memory:” It proves reality. His vocation is also to make you want. “And to add, not without humor, to the attention of Thierry Martinet:” In your words, you talked about two old people … It is not derogatory, especially when they did not have a wrinkle, as is the case for these two: the hall and the photo club. »»

A welcome wink, while the Creusot photo club has a 125 years of existence behind it. An exemplary longevity, turned to the future: a new exhibition of 50 shots is already planned this summer at the Château de Cormatin.
