Volleyball: Castres wants to end up on a good note

We cannot stay on a negative note, we have to finish the season in style, by having fun. And above all, we have to show another face. It was not us in Cannes.” This signed declaration by coach Grégory Verscheure has the merit of being clear. The last match of the season is of real importance for the girls of Castres Massaguel Volley-Ball. The Hornets will therefore have to discuss the reception of the Haillan (tonight 8:30 p.m.) as a cleaner match for qualification or maintenance. It is by displaying such a state of mind that the Castraises will learn to play the hinged meetings of a season with more consistency and thus to take the last step which still separates them from the head of a pool of national 2.

Big challenge for the Haillan

“Even if we aimed above at the start of the season, we cannot talk about failure. In the end, we are in our place. There are the two monsters in front of us, Monaco and Cannes. And we pay our inconstancy on the season. Each time we had to make a result, we did not respond. It is the regret that I have. But this 4th place is not a failure” explains Grégory Verscheure.

The test will be all the more convincing since the Girondines (16 points) will play their survival in National 2 during this meeting. With only two units ahead of Mérignac, currently in the relegation area, and a delay on Pau, the Haillan players must win to protect themselves from a bad surprise.

Their two direct competitors being opposed on the occasion of this last day, anything is possible! On the Castres side, no suspense since the JSA Bordeaux, continuing the closest, ended its season. The Hornets are therefore guaranteed to finish 4th even before the start of this meeting. But in front of its supporters, the CMVB will want to finish on a good note, with the way!
