The hero played by Richard Dean Anderson (What fans of Stargate SG-1 Also know very well) was at the center of the series bearing its name from 1985 to 1992, for 139 episodes divided into seven seasons. Lhe last episode was broadcast on April 25, 1992 with a conclusion that was not really one.
MacGyver, the ecological hero
In this episode 13 of season 7, MacGyver discovers thatHe has a son named Sam (embodied by Dalton James). The latter is a photo-journalist who comes to help the hero in his final investigation. With this discovery, and this new relationship he did not expect, MacGyver leaves the Phoenix Foundation and leaves on the road with Sam.
In the end, MacGyver did not really have an end, even if a last episode-which takes place before the events of the final-was broadcast in May 1992. In this one, MacGyver goes in search of the fountain of youth. But why did the series ended after a short season 7 of only 13 episodes? Richard Dean Anderson revealed to Tvguide that the show was canceled for a single reason: ” Everyone was ready to move on. I was physically exhausted and I had no life.«
No end, but a reboot
However, two TV movies were born thereafter: The lost treasure of Atlantis et The path of hell, Broadcast in 1994. These are classic surveys on the part of MacGyver and no conclusion is made to history.
-In 2016, MacGyver is reborn from his ashes for a reboot worn by Lucas Till, who this time embodies the hero. Richard Dean Anderson does not appear there, and the series lasts five seasons, before its cancellation in 2021.
