A first fire broke out this Sunday, May 4 around 6 p.m. on Sunday, inside the Kenu-In shopping center in Dumbéa. In the premises of Conforama, debris caught fire. This is all that had been since the entire building had been destroyed during the 2024 events.
Outside, in the parking lot, a concreteur was burned. The cabin is completely charred. For several weeks, machines have been stationed on the site, one of the last remaining post-riot deconstruction sites.
Dumbéa firefighters intervened effectively, in about twenty minutes. An investigation is open, indicates the gendarmerie.
