Two men are indicted for attempted aggravated murder, after the attack on the Hagondange police station during the riots in June 2023. They joined the fifteen people already prosecuted in this case.

Two young men of 21 and 22 years old were indicted, in particular for attempted aggravated murder, as part of the investigation into the attack on the Hagondange police station occurring during the urban violence of June 2023. According to AFP, the information was confirmed on Saturday by the public prosecutor of Metz, Yves Badorc.

Arrested on Monday, the two suspects are prosecuted for a series of charges, including “serious degradations by the use of explosive substances” and “attempted murder, in particular by premeditation”. They were placed under judicial supervision. Four minors, also arrested at the start of the week as part of the same case, are still awaiting a possible questioning.

The investigation dates back to the night of June 29 to 30, 2023, marked by a third evening of riots following the death of Nahel in Nanterre. In Hagondange, several dozen individuals had targeted the station and the adjoining police station, where a police officer was then stuck inside.

The attackers, armed with fireworks and projectiles, had caused significant material damage without being able to enter the premises. Three agents had been slightly injured and the police station in the police station had been set on fire. In January, 15 people had already been indicted in this case, including four for attempted assassination.
