“The Muso was already actively involved in previous editions, in particular through animation and cultural mediation activities. This new mandate marks an additional step, while the institution will also assume the artistic and organizational aspects, ”explains Chloé Marcil, coordinator with cultural life.
The Muso team will therefore be responsible for artistic programming, the coordination of exhibitors and logistics management, including registrations, reception of artists and the supervision of volunteers.
A novelty for young budding artists
Among the new features of the 2025 edition, the festival will offer for the first time the Toddler fav. This initiative aims to introduce children to the visual arts through a series of creative workshops offered during the festival, as well as during the start of the school year. An opportunity for families to introduce art to the youngest in an accessible and stimulating setting.
A theme inspired by color and joy
Scheduled next August 9 and 10 at the Delpha-Sauvé park, the FAV 2025 will revolve around the theme “Color, Happiness”, carried by the honorary presidency of the artist Alexandra Tremblay, also known as Alex in color. The artist, recognized for his vibrant and textured works imprints of an impressionist touch, also illustrated by his practice of upcycling, by reusing old frames to lay his light compositions.
“It was important to me that the theme reflects my artistic approach, which consists in instilling joy and lightness, reminding people of the beauty of the little moments of everyday life,” she shares.
A call to artists
Artists wishing to participate in the symposium can submit their application until April 30. The FAV brings together around 5,000 visitors each year and exhibits the work of around fifty creators. The artists will have the opportunity to paint live in front of the public and to present a work inspired by the theme of the year. These creations will be exhibited in the Jean-H.-Besner building, located in the heart of the Delpha-Sauvé park.
The complete program of the Valleyfield 2025 arts festival will be made public in the weeks preceding the event.
